Brothers Mohamad and Joe

In 2001 Mohamad and Joe Majma founded Ziba Oriental Rugs in Jamestown, North Carolina. The grand opening was the culmination of their vision, shaped by years of experience in the rug industry. Born in Tehran, Iran, Mohamad and Joe would eventually come to the United States in search of their American dream. Entering university and graduating from their respective institutions, Mohamad and Joe began work in the rug industry in 1986. This initial interest became a life’s work when the two brothers discovered how fulfilling the rug business would be to them.

They initially worked for other rug companies, traveling to numerous markets and working with many clients and even greater amount of rugs, as salespeople or managers. Through their work with other companies, Mohamad and Joe were able to gain a wealth of experience on the retail end of the rug industry while being able to explore their interests in the creative aspect of it. These interests paired with the enjoyment they got from working directly with people led to Mohamad and Joe opening nine stores from coast to coast.

Ziba Oriental Rugs is their flagship store on the east coast, servicing a number of states near and not so near to North Carolina. With their dedication to the integrity of the craft, they have crafted Ziba Oriental Rugs into the store they had always envisioned.
